SERBIA IN WRITINGS OF THE VENETIAN HISTORIAN
GIAN GIACOMO CAROLDO

In this article are analyzed news of the Venetian historian Gian Giacomo
Caroldo whose written document is not published in whole yet, but only in individ-
ual fragments, based on the manuscript which is kept in the Latin manuscript fond
of the Austrian national library (Codex Vindobonensis latinus 6153). Data which
this author brought about the Serbian history during the fifties and sixties in the
14th century in some measure enriched knowledge up to now and in special way
they dovetailed in data of the other sources which are speaking about very complex
relations between Venice, Bulgaria, Byzantium, Serbia and Ugric in mentioned
period.
