               Mehmet Zeki İbrahimgil

VALORIZATION OF OSMANLI OBJECTS IN SERBIA

Based on the book from the Osmanlians archive identified is that during
more than four centuries of the Osmanlians government in Serbia was built 910
objects. From the archives is possible to see that were built — religious objects:
mosques, mausoleums and similar, educational objects — high religious schools
(medresa), primary religious schools (mekteb) and similar, business objects —
taverns (han), covered market (bezistan), inns (caravanserai) and similar, social
objects — baths (ham am), bridges, outdoor street wells and similar, residential
objects — hostelries (konak), houses and similar, public objects — palaces, cu-
stom houses, posts and similar, military objects — fortifications, towers, barracks
and similar. Table will be given in presentation.
In the study that was done in 2000–2005 was shown that 186 objects were
partially or completely exist. Majority of existing objects is registered and put
under the protection of the state by the Ministry of culture of Republic Serbia. Me-
anwhile, exist objects were not registered. Majority of existing structures from the
Osman period in Serbia are mostly in Belgrade, Priština, Prizren, Peć, Smederevo,
Niš, Pirot, Sokobanja, Novi Pazar, and Leskovac like in towns as Vranje. Besides,
should count along with the river Danube strategic important Fethul Islam forti-
fication in Kladovo, fortification Golubac, fortification Petrovaradin and fortifi-
cation Ram. For majority of existing objects could say that these are objects with
architectonic elements from the Classical Osman period.
About The Osman architecture in Serbia until today were published books
and scientific works by the researchers such as Andrejević Andrej, Ivan Zdravko-
vić, Djurić Zamolo and Dušanka Bojanić. Meanwhile in this researches of the
Osman architecture in Serbia is condensed only a small part of objects from the
Osman period. In Serbia is not done jet completely study based on this subject.
Works of young researchers in this field have the target do establish common pre-
servation of cultural and architectural heritage on the territory of Serbia. I think
that further researches in this field will be useful to both countries and that they
will hit upon support of public.
