                     NOVI PAZAR ON THE MAP OF HISTORICAL ROADS


                      This work presents partially changed text of exhibit catalogue organized
               in a shape of the project Crossroads of heritage Novi Pazar on the map of histori-
               cal roads. In it trough cartography enclosures and testimonies of material culture
               from the different historical epochs presented directions of roads, forming the
               whole picture about Novipazar’s area as a place of different cultural encountering.
               Processed is cultural crossing on Novipazar’s district, beginning from the Vinca s
               culture during neolith, than period of metal period, relatively the first millennium
               BC. Processed is also period of the Roman domination with findings of this period
               and the greatest number of fortifications, with belonged archeological materials,
               originated during the early Byzantine period. During the early medieval period is
               sensed influence of the west trough before Romanic art presented in architecture
               and ornaments of the St. Peter’s church and in the less circumference of Djurdjevi
               stupovi. On the church St. George in the monastery complex Djurdjevi stupovi is
               countering influence of the western Romanic style in architecture and the eastern
               Byzantine style in the western painting. Combining of those two styles originated
               the new national style known as Raška’s style, which is the mostly expressive on
               the church of the Holy Trinity in Sopoćani. Specially is elaborated influence of the

               Orient that was dominant from the middle of the 15  century, from the coming of
               the Turks in our territories and lasted till the beginning of the 20  century.
