CODE-SWITCHING FROM THE
SOCIOLINGUISTIC AND PRAGMATICS ASPECT-

LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract: In this paper, we shall talk on the term of code-switching through the
literature review, reconsidering this linguistic phenomenon from the Sociolin-
guistic and Pragmatics aspect. Within Sociolinguistics, and especially through
language studies, the term of code-switching appears in everyday communication
and in real talking situations. Within Pragmatics, besides language in contact, we
can talk on code-switching in the conversation analyses. Since it can be approa-
ched to the stated phenomenon through different aspects, whose studying levels
overlap in some parts, we shall present the theoretical views of code-switching in
the paper and different examples, where code-switching appears.
