IDIOMS WITH QUR’ANIC ORIGIN IN THE BOSNIAN LANGUAGE
Abstract: The paper discusses the semantic components of phrases which
include religious discourse based solely on the Qur’an as a source of spirituality
and practice of Muslims. Due to the position of the language of the Qur’an, the
forms of phrases that are formed around the Qur’anic discourse are composed of a
combination of lexemes which have Slavic and Oriental origin. The lexemes with
Oriental origin are directly derived from the Qur’anic text which clearly can point
to that kind of relationship. The corpus of this research are mainly expressions
that spawned the “Sandžački frazeološki rječnik” published in February 2016. The
author of the dictionary is Abdulah Mušović, the pionir of phraseology. We have
discussed more then fifteen idioms. They are separeted into five different groups
based on motivation. We have discussed about kur’anska istina; kao abuzemze biti;
ne znati dalje od elifa; proučiti (izučiti, pokloniti) Fatihu nekome; kao <dženetska>
hurija; davati / dati jasine za nekog; razbiti kahar, skinuti kahar sa srca, kahar
učiniti nekoga; biti (učiniti se) kurban nekome; u prvom safu (biti); okretati tespih;
tufan i duman; nuhi star; tjerati tafru; imati haufluk na očima.
