The Moral Didactic Qasida of Sulejman Tabakovic

Abstract: There are numerous poems from Alhemiado literature derived
from the area of Novi Pazar. They are written by famous Novi Pazar scholars,
Imams, hieroglyphists, professors, and certainly men of pen and beautiful poets’
thought. What some were saying within their religious teaching, retelling it to the
others and guided them, these poets did it with their beautiful and flowing words.
They composed religious didactic manuals in verses, they wrote messages, gave
advice and invited to religion and respect of the primary religious regulations. For
these poems, we can say they are Ilmihali in short, the books of the primary religious
directions in verses. Very concisely, clearly, undisputedly, they, by their content,
vocabulary, the forms of Turkish words, characteristic language and telling, are
unique and extraordinary poems and they express the primary religious regulations,
guide to a kind behaviour, upbringing, the relation towards parents, older ones, the
relation towards neighbours, pursuant to Islam and Imams’ conditions. The most
beautiful directions and poems of this type in Novi Pazar, but also in Alhemiado
literature in general, were written by Arif Brkanic Sarajlija, through his Nasehat
Din in the Bosnian Language, Nazif Susevic in his two Qasidas of Nasehat, but
also Sulejman Tabakovic in his work This in in the Bosnian Language the Nasehat
of Sulejman, and also in his poem Qasida Ibrahim or Ibarhim Terzi.
