                        HISTORICAL-LEGAL ANALYSIS OF DYNAMICS
                        OF JUSTIFIABLE REGULATIONS FOR ISLAMIC
                                    COMMUNION IN SERBIA

This article presents the authors minds to following tasks. Processing le-
gislation that regulated the position of the Islamic community from its earliest
beginnings in Serbia as an independent state through historical and chronological
listing of laws regulates the position of a given point of the community, as well as
other religious communities, the religious successors in the Republic of Serbia.
Historical analysis of the Islamic religious community tends to Serbia as a modern
European state, which had more or less success, to regulate the rights and existen-
ce of religious institutions such as the Islamic Religious Community, apart from
the multitude of religious communities that exist in this country. Therefore for this
regulation is closely linked and the freedom of thought, conscience and religion as
vital and very important human right that must be seen as a means to strengthen
the democratic pluralism of thought and discussion, which itself has its own beau-
ty and force, then the individual and society as a whole need to find the thread that
connects diversity. That freedom is, of course, in its religious dimension, the most
vital element of a man’s identity as a person and his very conception of life, but it
is valuable for atheists, agnostics, skeptics and those who do not pay attention to
such questions. Pluralism is neither characteristic of a democratic society, which
is hard — won over many centuries and are still being built. Also, this is a proper
functioning democracy, where, on the other hand, in the vortex of that pluralism
requires from those who profess a religious belief, it is not expected that these
beliefs be protected from all forms of criticism, but have to accept that second
contradict their beliefs, even to support the views that are hostile to these beliefs.
On the other hand we must not forget the historical component of this article as
the general influence of history and its facts to learn of future generations and its
universal motto “Historia magistra vitae est” — history is the teacher of life.
