THE CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE MEDIA
REPORTING DISCOURSE ON THE LANGUAGE-

POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT OF RIZAH GRUDA

Abstract: The critical discourse analysis is a result of sociological-linguistic re-
searches, thus, finally, during understanding of meaning all at levels of linguistic
units, it also includes the interaction and dialects among language and social stru-
ctures.
Media reporting on the urgent political and language issues at the time of dissolu-
tion of SFRY showed illustratively the stated interaction and dialect, thus, in this
paper, we deal with journalistic reporting on the language-political engagement
of Rizah Gruda.
Since language is an inseparable of ideology, this analysis could be a good instru-
ment for the language analysis, in the aim of demystification of the ideological
processes (Fowler – Kress 1979: 196), at the beginning of 90s, in ex-Yugoslavia.
