CASE STUDY: THE USE OF RTI PAINTING TECHNIQUE FOR
REVISION OF ANTIQUE INSCRIPTION OF THE NATIVE MUSEUM
IN NOVA VAROS

Abstract: The area of Nova Varos is rich in archeological localities,
mostly placed in the surrounding villages, and the village Radoinja is especially
distinguished, for one of the seldom researched Necropolises from the antique
period of III and IV centuries BC. At the locality of Grobljanica, the remains of
Basilica are recorded by the archeologists from the Native Museum in Uzice. The
protection researches were done in 2003. During these excavations, the remains
of the primary Basilica are discovered, the gravestone monuments and sacrificers.
The topic of the paper is exactly one of these sacrificers. It is about a votive macaw,
devoted to the Roman God Sylvan, being placed at the permanent exhibition of the
Native Museum in Nova Varos.
