HISTORICAL RETROSPECT ON JUVENILE
PRISON SENTENCE

This article is dedicated to the history of the juvenile prison sentence in
Serbia. The necessity to elaborate on this issue arises since we are witness conti-
nuous changing criminal law, and the practice has not missed an earlier time, so it
is important to look back at the history of some legal texts in order to find better
solutions for future reforms. Juvenile punishment have attracted attention since
the earliest times, so the prison sentence, as the most repressive punishment that
can be applied to juvenile offenders, passed through various stages in the legisla-
tive regulation.
