THE SERBS CHEVALIERS OF THE SULTAN
ORDER IN THE TURKISH PRINCIPALITY OF
SERBIA
Abstract: In the paper, based on the manuscript and other materials, it is noticed
for the Princes of Serbia, after the Second Serbian Uprising: Milos Obrenovic,
Milan and Mihajlo Obrenovic and Aleksandar Karadjordjevic, the Beys of the
autonomous Turkish Principality, all until its complete independence in 1876,
wore up to three Turkish orders, being awarded to for their faithfulness and
service to their nation. According to it, they are all presented at the celebration
ruling portraits with all their Turkish medals, and also with their awards of the
Serbian rulers. They received numerous Turkish medals by the Turkish Sultans and
by their Serbian dignitary who were in power. All Serbian dignitaries emphasize
these Turkish medals with their pride during their portrayals. The high Turkish
orders with their Charters had over a hundred Serbs.
