THE “RAS” ARCHIVE THROUGH A PRISM OF SCIENTIFIC-
RESEARCH AND PUBLISHING ACTIVITY

Abstract: The availability of the archive material to private­legal subjects is
determined pursuant to legal acts based on whom the archives can issue letters of
certificate on data and facts presented within the archive material, copies, sealed
copies and others for solving of citizens’ life issues, economy and state entities, and
for most citizens, it is the only interaction with archives. Since Information Age that
interweaves each segment of a human society and the need for more intense and
voluminous information flow, the archives, as history keepers, should include more
intensively into the general life of a social community existing through different
forms of scientific, cultural and exhibition manifestations, where they go into a
correlation with the institutions for whom the archive material serves as the means
for accomplishment of their assignments and aims. The scientific­research activity
and publishing­exhibition one of the Archive, based on its Archive material, is a very
significant segment of the Archive work, and it initiates a special form of interest
towards the Archive material. Different orientation of the Archive material, being
kept within Archive records, represents authentic historical recordings, i.e. research
resources in almost all areas of scientific­research work. There are also different
experiences and issues of the Archive in securing the conditions for the use of the
Archive material in scientific­research purposes. In some countries, for making
easy of the scientific­research work, the archive material is conceded for usage to
libraries, other archives or institutes. Some archives, besides doing in making of
informative means and inventories, they also print scientific­information means for
certain funds and collections. The fact is for the issue of using the archive material
into scientific purposes is defined by principles and regulations to be applied within
all archives. Within the mentioned context, this paper has for its intention to present
the Archive “Ras” in Novi Pazar from the aspect of its scientific­research and
publishing activity.
